Crew
Crew is accepting registrations for the Spring season now until
approximately February 23. Everyone who wants to try the sport will be
taught how to row. Placement in competitive boats depends on level of skill
and athletic ability as determined by the crew coaching staff. Boat
placement includes testing on Concept II Rowing Ergometers and evaluation of on the water skills and athletic ability in effectively moving a rowing
shell. However, the team does not have equipment to safely accommodate very large individuals, the weight limit is approximately 225 pounds.
The Spring parents/students Informational General Membership Meeting is
Wednesday, February 11, in the Lower cafeteria at the high school. All
students and parents who wish to participate in Spring Crew should attend.
The Spring season officially begins February 23. Students can start by
working out with the Winter Conditioning program given by the crew coaching staff between now and the time we get on the water, which February 23 at the earliest, depending on the weather. Contact any crew coach in the lower lobby by the weight room around 2:20 PM for information.
